Christmas musical is gift to the community
Countryside Bible Church presents its third annual Christmas Musical at Jonesville High School Auditorium on Saturday, December 20 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday December 21, at 10:30 a.m.
The musical, A Baby Changes Everything, is directed by Dawn Miller. It tells the story of how three residents of Bethlehem almost missed the significance of Christ’s birth.
The program features the adult choir directed by Mary Burns, the junior choir led by the Millers, and a number of soloists and cast members in addition to a large crew working with set construction, props and costumes.
With a special arrangement of the title song, made popular by Faith Hill, and the thought-provoking "While You Were Sleeping" by Casting Crowns, the musical mixes new theatrical songs of testimony with more familiar songs of the season.
Miller says it not only examines the events surrounding the birth of the Christ child, but draws some connections between Christmas “then” and Christmas “now.” “How often do we overlook what God is doing in our lives around us while we focus on things that really only matter to us?” Warren asks.
Associate pastor Wally Metts says the musical is presented as a gift to the community. “We’ve added a performance this year so others can enjoy the program, even if they are members of another congregation,” he says.
Everyone is welcome and there is no admissions charge. For additional information about the performance visit the church website at cbcjonesville.org or call the church office at 517.849.9339.
