More to Discover

Posted on Jan. 19, 2012 by Lindy Stewart.

Our Discovery Institute begins Sunday, February 5, following the "Souper" Bowl fellowship  Workshops will then continue for three more months, on the first Sunday evening of the month at 5:00 p.m.

Sessions scheduled this spring include:

  • “101- Discovering My Relationship”, taught by Pastor John Lillie
  • “301- Discovering My Ministry”, taught by Pastor Wally Metts
  • Additional Search Class: “Three Mighty Men of Jesus”, taught by visiting Pastor, Bob Snyder.

The Discovery Institute is an essential aspect of discipleship at Countryside.  101 covers foundational truths and doubles as our new members class.  301 builds the foundation for discovering how the Lord has made you and what areas of ministry you may be be suited for. “Three Mighty Men of Jesus” is a look at men in church history. Just as David had his thirty top-notch soldiers, and then his three "mighty men", so Jesus has had stand-out soldiers of truth in the spiritual battles of church history. Please join us to consider the lives, writings, and contributions of three mighty men of Jesus: Athanasius of Alexandria, Martin Luther, and J. Gresham Machen. Together, these three men represent the three big eras of church history--the early church, the Reformation, and modern times. They also represent the core theological issues of the church--the deity of Christ, the grace of salvation, and the purity of the Bible

Sessions are from 5 to 7, and include a light potluck meal. To sign up to bring a dish to pass visit the bulletin board in the foyer. Childcare is provided.
