High School Youth Group Enjoys Time Away

Posted on Dec. 1, 2011 by Rob Stewart.

This fall the youth had a great time on our first “Fall Retreat” to the U.P. along the Tahquamenon River. With a lot of new faces in the high school youth group, it was a great opportunity to build relationships and spend time in the Word.

From the girls’ time spent studying the Holy Spirit, Becky Redmond, one of our youth leaders, said, “I learned to not underestimate the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.”

The guys studied through the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount to learn what Jesus taught about the heart of those who are a part of His kingdom. Matthew Parker was reminded that we should “be humble and meek, and think of others and how we can serve them.”

Great memories were made going to see the Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, hiking in the woods, canoeing, and even a brave few taking a dip in the icy-cold river.

On February 10-12, the high school youth group will be attending their yearly winter retreat at Camp Barakel (www.campbarakel.org) in Fairview, Michigan. Spaces are limited and a deposit of $25 is needed ASAP to guarantee your spot. The total for the trip is $100. Questions? Contact Pastor Rob at rcstewart@gmail.com or 517-610-9708.

Sr. High Bible Study meets on Tuesday nights from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
