A generous heart update

Posted on Oct. 10, 2010 by Wally Metts.

Countryside recently launched a capital campaign to support current growth. The generous heart campaign allows us to be thoughtful stewards as we open our building and ourselves to God’s purpose for our church.

This $125,000 project provides an additional entrance and coat racks to relieve congestion in the narthex, sufficient storage to unclutter our current facilities, and two large classroom for instruction and overflow during our fellowship events and worship services.

Remodeling of some existing classroom space, a pole barn to preserve our investment in equipment and vehicles, and air-conditioning for the sanctuary are also ennvisioned.

At Countryside we believe giving should be a reflection of God’s character in us, not a rule or an expectation. Consequently, this is a faith promise campaign, where people make annonymous commitments over the next year to give as God blesses or provides, in addition to their regular giving.

As of March 1, 2011, we have donations of $52,479.50 which includes the original $38,696.50, so the actual donations since the generous heart campaign began would be $13,783.00. The expenses so far have been $72,369.83. (We have funds in hand to cover expenditures so far, but prefer not to deplete our contingency funds and will not go into debt.)

Please pray about the part you might have in this undertaking, and pray that in all things we might be faithful stewards of God’s gracious gifts.
